One of our prime time anchors, our weatherman, and I were talking between sets of our hour long news cast the other day. We are all three in our 50s. As a joke one of us asked what are you going to be when you grow up? Somehow over time this conversation deteriorated to what kind of car will you be when you grow up?
The anchor, an old friend of mine, sniped in with, “I know what Bear would be!” When pushed he said the archetype hippie VW micro bus with the mural of a wizard on it.
The conversation further eroded and many details where added which include surfboards, kayaks and levitating turkey legs.
The big things leaning against the back of the van are suppose to be mud ducks a pirogue like plywood canoe I had as a kid.
The anchor was going to be an Astin Marten like James Bond drove in “Goldfinger”.
The Weather man was going to be an ice cream truck pulling a ranger bass boat.
I am working on these still. And I laugh hard every time I look at the ice cream truck pulling a ranger bass boat that I have half done on my drawing board.
I think this experience and this drawing both say a lot about how other people see me as well as how I see myself
